Beggars and Kings

The countryman's fishing alone at the sea
Sipping a pint as he sings merrily
A song with the wind in sweet harmony
And all that he knows is just how to be free

The thinking man's sitting alone at his pen
Not a single disturbance as thoughts fill his den
The world that he lives in is his only friend
And all that he knows, we will know in the end

From far and wide, they meet in the soul
They take hold of freedom and never let go
Your life is a gift and all you must bring
For Beggars and Kings to join hands and sing

The traveler wanders alone on the earth
Bursting each day with new sights on new turf
His being alone is a thing beyond worth
And all that he knows is his constant rebirth

The wind is your sister, your brothers the stars
This place is your haven, 'tween Venus and Mars
And whether you're sitting in cabins or bars
This vessel is perfect, this vessel is ours.
